ENROLMENT:
Enrolment at the IBNU HAZMI INTEGRATED SECONDARY SCHOOL Implies willingness on
part of the parents and students to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school. They are expected to co-operate and show concern for their children’s progress.
CONDUCT:
Students are expected to behave well, show respect for their teachers and treat their mates well, in case of misconduct, punishment will be meted out.
SCHOOL TIMES:
Students should be dropped at school before 7:00am. There is always a teacher on duty and the security in charge by 6.30am who will take care of the children at that time. Lunch break is from 12.40pm – 1.30pm. Afternoon classes end at 5.30pm. Any changes in time will be communicated.
ABSENTEEISM:
Students are expected to attend classes at all times while the school is on session. The management will not tolerate absenteeism on flimsy reasons from parents or students. Principal is instructed to suspend or expel a child on his/ her own discretions on absenteeism. However, should a parent want a child to be away from school for any reason, then permission should be sought in writing prior to the date(s) of permissions
SICKNESS:
Students who have been absent for any sickness should bring in a doctor’s letter to the class teacher, or call directly the principals cell phones
SICKNESS AT SCHOOL:
In case of sudden sickness during school time, parents will be informed immediately, if this is not possible your child will be taken to the nearest doctor available or the hospital for treatment and the parents will meet the expenses
CONFISCATION:
Mobile phones, toys, comics or any un-educational literature, and jewelries should not be brought to school otherwise they will be confiscated
PICKING:
Students are not allowed to leave the school compound during school hours and hooting is strictly not allowed in the school compound. Parents are expected to come out of their cars and fetch children. Playing loud music while at the waiting bay is strictly prohibited
TIDINESS:
All students are expected to come to school daily smartly dressed in school uniform and well polished shoes. P.E and tackies should not be worn except on the days of P.E or Games.
SCHOOL PROPERTY:
Damages to school property must be PAID for the offender. Parents are expected to return any school property which might have been taken by mistake
COMPLAINTS:
Any complaint should be channeled through the principal who will be able to find a solution to the problems
PUNISHMENTS:
The school has a doctrine of dispensing punishment which it is upon the discretion of the teacher to choose the mode of punishment
LABELING:
All students items MUST be clearly labeled with the student’s full name at the end of the year, all the lost unclaimed items will be kept in the office or school store. Lost property will be displayed on any parent day and may be fetched from the store on a daily basis
NOTICE:
When a child is to leave school, notice should be given at least a month in advance where possible.
SCHOOL FEES:
All school fees must be paid in full prior to the beginning of the term. All school fees means, payment ought to be made to the school. Children will be sent home from classes if a school fee is not paid within two weeks after the school opens unless prior arrangements are made.
TEXT BOOKS/ STATIONERIES:
It is the responsibility of the parent to provide all stationary and text books as required on a day to day basis. Exercise books will be provided if paid for.
EDUCATIONAL TRIP:
These are financed by the parents and it’s a MUST for all children to participate .
SCHOOL VISITS:
The child should only be visited only on visiting days or upon an urgent need. When a parent visits, he/ she should first report to the office before meeting the student, if a parent fails to report to the office and proceeds to talk to the student then the parent shall go home with the student for two weeks.
ACCIDENTS:
Although every care will be taken to ensure the safety of the students, the school will not accept any responsibility for any accident that may occur in and out of school compound.
LATENESS:
The school does not entertain lateness without a proper reason.
SCHOOL LANGUAGE:
The official language within the compound must be English. Any student caught speaking in vernacular language will be given a punishment.
NB: if a student fails to abide with any of the above rules may lead to immediate expulsion without any consultation to the parent’s concerned.
